Children should be given every opportunity to succeed!
Child labour, child trafficking, child marriages, health issues, and domestic violence are only some of the unfair roadblocks the children face, where there is lack of education and family cannot provide means to protect them. These issues can multiply into serious problems, if the children don’t have access to proper education and support.
No matter how much we want to think of these problems as unreal, they are actual threats to society and the current & forthcoming younger generation . Kadam has a definitive thought stream that believes: put as many children in school as we can and pave a path for their better tomorrow.

Transformation Stories
Madhav:
Madhav hails from Gundur Village in Nizamabad District, who lives there with his two younger siblings, Vithal ( brother , aged X yrs) and . Unfortunately the trio had lost their parents and were living alone in their village. Some kind neighbours were taking care of the children with the food. These neighbours contacted Kadam , if we could help them. Kadam sponsored the 2 younger siblings’ education in the local school.
Over the period of 2 -3 years, we noticed that Madhav had lost his vision to blindness and was getting weaker by each passing day. Kadam came forward and brought him to Hyderabad for a medical check-up. At L.V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, he was diagnosed with early onset of cataract caused by malnutrition.
Kadam team further took him to Mahavir Hospital, Hyderabad for further treatment. The blood tests reports indicated that his haemoglobin levels have fallen to 2 -3 grams per deciliter. Our team & donors didn’t shy away from providing assistance including medical treatment expenditure, housing arrangement and nutritious food including fruits, meat and vegetables. After three months of medical assistance, blood transfusions and nutritious diet Madhav recovered to normal haemoglobin levels.
He then was taken back L.V Prasad Eye Institute, Hyderabad, where he underwent successful cataract surgery for both his eyes. He now has perfect eyesight and is living a normal life in his village.
Kadam shared this information with 2 other people facing similar issues and they too had overcome medical challenges.
Lakshmi:
One day Chandanagar Police Station, Hyderabad called one of the Kadam Trustees and informed us about an orphan girl, who was beaten up and thrown out of the house by her elder brother and his wife, and asked if we can help. We found her in a fragile state of mind and she had high fever. Kadam provided her temporary accommodation in the school premises. Upon medical inspection, she was detected with severe Tuberculosis. Lakshmi was immediately isolated in a rented house and was provided private tuitions so that she can continue her education. However, due to her deteriorating health, tuitions had to be stopped and medical treatment was provided.
Mr. Anjaneylu ( School Care-Taker then) was appointed full time to take Lakshmi to hospital and arrange for food etc. Ms. Sri Vidhya stayed with the girl to take care of her. Another Infosys employee, Chetana Narra sponsored her treatment for the entire duration of 1 year along with other donors. Even after all efforts , Lakshmi’s health was declining and we weren’t sure if she would make it through. However, Lakshmi fought her conditions and recovered completely. Many volunteers and donors have helped in Lakshmi’s journey to healthy life.
Lakshmi was then moved to a hostel run by Navjyothi Niketan, Medchal and was enrolled to english medium CBSE school St, Ignatitius. She had completed her 10th Class in 2020 with 10/10 CGPA and topped in her school. Currently, she stays at a private girls hostel and is registered at Narayana Junior College, Hyderabad continuing her studies.
